The Three Little Shenanigans

DSC04911.JPGToday Rocket Boy asked what “a shenanigan” is. Inspired by the definition (secret or dishonest activity; silly behavior; mischief), he came up with this story of the Three Little Shenanigans.

Once upon a time in America there lived the three little Shenanigans. The first Shenanigan was pretty crazy. He built his house out of water. The second Shenanigan was even crazier. He built his house out of ice. And the third Shenanigan, the craziest of them all, built his house out of bananas (what did you expect it was made out of, steam?)

And so they lived very happily for a few days. But then there was a real hot day. And the first Shenanigan’s house just boiled away. And the second Shenanigan’s house melted away.

Then all the Shenanigans said “ah, we’re done with this place!” and moved to the jungle. They figured they would build better houses in the jungle. And in the meantime they would use the banana house as their shelter. But sadly the third little Shenanigans’ house got eaten by a bunch of monkeys.

Then the first little Shenanigan built his new house out of jungle flowers (remember, he was crazy). And the second little Shenanigan built his new house out of turtles (remember, he was even crazier). And the third little Shenanigan built his new house out of poisonous mushrooms (kind of makes sense).

The next day, the first Shenanigan’s flower house got blown over. And the first little Shenanigan moved into his brother’s turtle house.

A few weeks later a huge storm struck. The second little Shenanigan’s house was destroyed because all the turtles ran around hiding from the storm. So the two moved into their brother’s poison mushroom house.

And they lived happily… until the poison mushroom house exploded… because there were too many Shenanigans inside!

THE END
